As I leave Resurrection after 9 years and 9 months of service, I thank our God for each of you and for the encouragement you have given me over the years. As I reflected on my ministry here and on the future ministry God has for me, I was surprised when God led me to Revelation 2:4.  But, recently I figured it out.  With all my heart, I desire to return to my first love – the Lord Jesus.

To the best of my knowledge, the way God wants me to pray during this season of transition is to pray daily using the words to the 7 churches found in Revelation chapters 2-3.  Each church seems to have a message that speaks directly to my heart.  I will be praying something like this:

Sundays – Ephesus – perseverance
Mondays – Smyrna – not to be afraid and be faithful
Tuesdays – Pergamum – resisting those who teach falsely (and live by false teachings)
Wednesdays – Thyatira – God searches the hearts and minds and will repay
Thursdays – Sardis – giving thanks for my friends who pray for me and who are walking alongside me
Fridays – Philadelphia – endure patiently
Saturdays -Laodicea – to be earnest and repent

May the Lord bless you and keep you.  May the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you.  May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Amen.
